Dana was an American mineralogist and physicist who made signigicant contributions to the study of crystals. The Text-book, featured here, is one of two major works by Dana, the second being the System of Mineralogy, the 6th edition of a work by Dana's geologist father, James D. Dana. E.S. Dana was editor/director of the American Journal of Science from 1875 to 1926.
